The Business Family Insights column profiles business families and how they approach issues of governance and stewardship. They support the SMU Business Families Institute's (BFI) mission to encourage business families to Think Generations, Think Growth, Think Giving and Think Global. The article featured the Daya Selaras Group in Indonesia, which has pursued a circular model for the past 30 years. SMU Associate Professor of Strategy & Entrepreneurship (Education) and Academic Director of BFI Kenneth Goh said, “Business families play a crucial role in advancing the circular economy. Their extensive networks and longstanding relationships within the business community enable them to nurture collaborations. This synergy of tradition and innovation fortifies their legacy and lays the groundwork for sustained and responsible growth.”
