Why Investors like Governance -
The Key to Long-lasting Family Enterprises
Synopsis
|
While managing complex stakeholder relationships in addition to managing a business presents a myriad of challenges, companies which adopt good practices in corporate governance are more likely to deliver a long-term return for their owners. The process will not be straightforward as family businesses must consider both boardroom and family dynamics.
Join us for an interactive session with our Knowledge Partner - Alexis Ng, Head of Asia Distribution, and David Smith, Head of Corporate Governance, Asia Pacific, at Aberdeen Standard Investments, as we discuss how companies can benefit from strong corporate governance, and build long-term sustainable success. Drawing on real life case studies, the speakers will share their experience of interacting with family-run businesses for over 25 years in Asia, including how family-run businesses which have adopted strong corporate governance have benefitted from such practices.
The panellists, Chin Wei Yao of Health Management International Ltd, Lim Christina Hariyanto of Bumitama Agri Ltd and David Smith of Aberdeen Standard Investments will share insights on how good governance has created value for their stakeholders. Participants will also get an exclusive tour of Hugh Young's, Head of Asia Pacific, private art collection at the Aberdeen Standard Investments office.
