In this other article in the same latest issue of the Leading Women supplement in The Business Times, Professor Annie Koh presented her views on the new set of skills required to be a successful CEO amidst a backdrop of disruption and change in the corporate world - they must be able to manage ambiguity, comfortable with making decisions despite not having full information of the future.
On the advancement of women into more leadership roles, Professor Koh added that the odds of female talent being selected may rise with more companies seeking out diverse talents and with the implementation of many programmes to encourage our girls to consider careers in technical industries. She also observed that more female CEOs are being appointed in traditionally male-dominated industries as the boards of these companies realised that "a disrupted world may need very different leaders."
