Synopsis

Entrepreneurship and innovation go hand in hand. Where there is no or low innovation, entrepreneurship cannot be sustainable. BFI@SMU recently concluded a 6-month research survey aimed at examining Singapore-based family firms’ attitude and approach towards innovation as they go through various stages of their growth life-cycles.

By considering both internal and external drivers of innovation, the results of the survey led to the conclusion that commitment, capability and collaboration are critical to impact family firms’ innovation journeys and sustainable growth going forward.

In this inaugural V3 Group Professorship in Family Entrepreneurship Lecture, Professor Annie Koh will share her insights into the findings of the survey and discuss how business families can build an enduring entrepreneurial spirit and innovative culture through an ecosystem approach.
